Behind the scenes of the image campaign Micromondo for Fortuny in Venezia.
Short interview at the studio in Venice.
This is the process that went into creating my cyanotype prints. For the composition I used items that I found in Venice including seaweed from the canals, which is the subject of another project of mine, "I capelli di Venezia" (link below). The seaweed was dried and placed on paper that had been treated with chemicals. The chemicals react when exposed to the sun and when water is applied thereafter, the chemicals turn blue. Using the cyanotype process ,I was able to control which parts of the chemical were exposed to the sun by placing items such as the seaweed on top of it, thus creating a print of these items.
